At Home Office, our Operations Teams purchases the best supplies and then manufactures and distributes great food and cookware products through our Consultant network. 

The Sales and Marketing department guides the Consultants to success by creating and providing promotional material, training, catalogues, recipes, recognition events, and call center support.  Our Innovation, Research + Development Team creates new products and continually fine tunes our formulas for maximum taste and quality. 

Our innovative Technology Team is focused to enhance and upgrade our systems and processes for ease of operation, communication and reporting.

Our Finance and Support Teams ensures that the “beans” are counted properly and we are poised to support both our Home Team Members and our Consultants in the best way possible.

Assistant Finance Manager

The Assistant Finance Manager is an individual who is dedicated, hands on and ready to provide day-to-day oversight to Epicure’s Accounting team.  Working with the Finance Manager, your role will be to manage and perform day-to-day finance functions, analyze business results, identify risks and trends, and proactively seek solutions by collaborating with key stakeholders in and outside Epicure. As well, you will evaluate supplier performance, including quality, cost, supply, capacities, systems and responsiveness as per on-going business management of the products, leases, licenses and/or services contracted by the suppliers – in addition to ensuring portfolio related services are delivered in a timely manner, meeting objectives and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and assess them with other stakeholders to determine successful provider.
  • Locate manufacturers for goods with provided designs and design specifications.
  • Source raw materials (cookware) and packaging as per Epicure’s specifications.
  • Collaborate with designers and product developers to assess each option for supply ability, quality and price.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for products to build requests for pricing.
  • Evaluate pre-production samples for quality and ensure Epicure’s high standards and expectations are met.
  • Develop AQLs (acceptable quality levels) in collaboration with our Quality Assurance Department to facilitate QA checks for incoming products.
  • Resolve any quality issues with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Prepare progress reports and attend weekly update meetings.

Key Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain Management with increasing responsibilities in various roles.
  • An understanding of excellent manufacturing processes and inventory-management systems.
  • Sense of urgency with initiative and able to deliver as required by several parties.
  • Good knowledge of production practices, shipping practices, and procedures.
  • Make timely and sound decisions.
  • Excellent oral- and written-communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Assistant Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete journal entries by synthesizing and analyzing financial information required for delivery of accurate, timely, and complete financial reports.
  • Maintain and process payroll using Ceridian software for 160 team members on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist and process accounts payable ensuring timely payment of suppliers and compliance with corporate cash flow guidelines.
  • Management reporting: compile regular and ad hoc management reports as required and review information to ensure accuracy and internal consistency.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: In conjunction with the Controller and Finance Manager, prepare annual business and departmental budgets, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Inventory Management: take ownership of inventory reporting and processes including tracking, analyzing, reconciling, and reporting with the aim of capturing accurate financial information and minimizing unexpected variances from initial estimates.
  • Accounting Oversight: maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures on a timely basis.
  • Represent Finance on various inter-departmental committees.
  • This role is also required to support Special Projects.

  • Grow within the organization to fill succession planning for the Management of the Finance department.

Education + Experience:

  • Second or third year CPA required   with 3-5 years of relevant Accounting experience (preferably in Manufacturing and/or Consumer Goods) in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth environment

  • Experience designing and implementing best practice processes for a Finance department and business operations
  • Experience with report writing and presentations for the Controller and the Finance Manager

The Operations Administrative Coordinator has the know-how to use technology for maximum efficiency and is adept at using all office productivity tools. The OAC creates correspondence and PowerPoint presentations for the VPO with minimal input and direction. This role requires commitment and influence and is demonstrated in the flexibility, availability and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.  The Operations Administrative Coordinator will have experience working with senior executives and is polished and professional in everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary support person to the VPO, including schedule management, daily paperwork and approval requirements
  • Provide support to the Operations leadership team
  • Delivers a comprehensive array of highly responsible and confidential administrative, organizational, secretarial and other support services

Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler plans day-to-day production activities ensuring equipment, material, and HTM resources are used efficiently.  The Production Scheduler ensures the supply of manufactured, cleaning plan, inventory and work for the Production Floor.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing a day-to-day, week-to-week production schedule for each process cell. 
  • Responsible for the issuing of work orders and advising sequencing to the Production Floor leadership. 
  • The goal is to maximize production efficiencies, while managing inventory and cleaning schedules.
  • Interpret and use reports that advise product launch and promotion schedules, sales performance, component availability, and Production Cell throughput to ensure primary objectives are met. 
  • Create reports to keep stakeholders updated as to the status of product inventory (including new and promoted products), component inventory, process cell performance, and available work for the Production Floor.
  • Where the primary objectives are at risk of not being met, Production Scheduler is responsible for collaborating with other departmental stakeholders (Purchasing, Production, Warehouse) to identify options to resolve. 
  • It is an expectation of the Production Scheduler to advise the Planning Team when objectives are at risk and what steps are being taken to mitigate the risks.  The notice period for advising stakeholders should exceed one week where possible.
  • Communication with the Customer Experience team about any potential stock out or return to stock advice is critical for maintaining good relations with the field.
  • Collection and analysis of production and inventory data to aid in decision making.
  • Act as designate for Production Administrator deliverables including batch ticket closing, data entry and maintenance, and inventory transactions.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for the tasks and deliverables performed.
  • Participate in cycle count procedures, and year-end Physical Inventory including warehouse counting and systems reconciliation.
  • Such further and other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Education & Experience:

  • A post-secondary degree in Engineering, Management, Business or other related field.
  • Expertise with MS Excel including statistical and financial functions.
  • Expertise with MS Access including query, form, and report design.
  • Experience with ERP systems considered an asset.
  • Experience with Batch Master Enterprise (BME) is an asset.
  • Education in manufacturing processes, inventory control, quality systems and purchasing preferred.
